    1. This guy is awesome The comic timing is impeccable The drawings themselves are beautiful, among the best comic strip drawings I ve seen. These strips make for perfect winter reading material Wright has a way of expressing warmth and love while at the same time being incredibly funny and uncompromising These strips star a young boy called Nipper, who is, like an actual boy, a bit of a trouble maker at times Wright presents scenes that are familiar to me from my own childhood The strips come off as [...]

    2. Selected than collected, but a treasure trove nonetheless, this volume includes tons of Wright s mostly wordless certainly dialogue less strip Nipper, a very amusing kid centric strip that preceded and anticipates Dennis the Menace, Peanuts, etc The vertical format takes getting used to, but Wright s visual chops are most impressive, as is his un usual colour device the strips usually include one colour other than black, usually red, in very effective ways Also includes a long biographical essa [...]

    3. What stands out for me is how beautifully put together this is, in every was Thank Seth for the look of it Obviously, somebody did exhaustive research here and it shows The photos, and his whole life were meticulously chronicled here I must admit, I d never heard of Doug Wright The closest thing I can compare his art to is Henry This guy drew good cars too All in all, a nice historical reference piece on this Canadian artist.
