    1. Always speak politely to an enraged Dragon Steven BrustThis is book 1 in a series and at this writing, there are two books Maria Grace did an excellent job in establishing the universe that our characters would live in She moved the scenes so smoothly that the reader was soon comfortable with the notion that humans and dragons coexisted in the world I was blown away by the writing style and the detail that our author took the time to create in this story It does not do to leave a live dragon out [...]

    2. My problem with this book is that I was hooked with reading the chapter postings on the author s blog and thus paid no attention to the fact that this is Book 1 how many Much of the story follows canon but we are first introduced the the connections between humans and dragons and the treaty which maintains peace between the two species Then there are humans who hear and can talk to dragons Elizabeth has inherited the role of Dragon Keeper from her father and thus is also under rule to marry Coll [...]

    3. Yet another marvelous tale by Ms Grace This is a new Pride and Prejudice universe where the early chapters of that ageless story up to the Netherfield ball blend seamlessly with an England inhabited by various species of dragons They speak in a language only other dragons and certain humans have the ability to understand Those without it are not even aware that dragons exist Sort of like Muggles in the Harry Potter universe It is a closely guarded secret, and there is a Pendragon Treaty, hundred [...]

    4. Take Darcy and Elizabeth, mix in dragons and a pinch of sorcery and you have a brilliant tale that just captures your imagination The descriptive verse and level of detail, provided such a fabulous visual I found the tension palpable between Darcy, Elizabeth and Mr Bennet You can just see the sparks flying Not everyone can hear dragons but certain members of the Bennet family can as well as Darcy I quite enjoyed Mary s role in this story Though in canon she may be somewhat pedantic, she has such [...]

    5. If I could give this one 100 stars, I would I thoroughly enjoyed it and can not wait for the next installment I look forward to the day when I have the whole series and can read them non stop The future romance between e D was thoughtfully set up, the dragons are fabulous, the interactions between humans, dragons, and non hearing humans was amazing I can not fault this book Original idea and well done You have made me a permanent fan, Ms Grace, with this book Thank you Reread I just can t get en [...]

    6. 3.5 stars I had really high hopes for this book, because I m 100% trash for both Austen retellings and dragons So really, an Austen retelling WITH DRAGONS should have been a surefire hit for me But no Honestly, I think part of the problem here is that it s only the firstird of Pride and Prejudice Like, by the end of the book, Mr Collins hasn t even proposed to Lizzie So it felt INCREDIBLY long a lot of the time And yes, there s a lot of world building to do because it s a world with dragons and [...]

    7. One of the reasons I love JAFF so much is that my interest in spending time with Darcy and Elizabeth has compelled me to read books in genres that I would not have been very likely to read I am not typically a reader of fantasy books, but when I saw that Maria Grace had made the decision to write a fantasy JAFF story centered around a mystical world that threw Darcy and Elizabeth into the path of dragons, as well as each other, I was curious to see how this fantasy story would unfold. In Mr Darcy [...]

    8. What a great start to what will be a fantastic series Maria Grace has combined to of my favorites, PP and fantasy, in a truly unique and amazing way.Imagine that dragons are real Imagine that to stop a war between human and dragon kind, Utter Pendragon negotiated a treaty, resulting in the two races working together Yes, that Uther Now imagine a myriad of dragon species, from the tiny fairy dragon to the regal fire drake, and we have yet to discover That is the opening premise of the history cr [...]

    9. England is covered with many different kind sof dragons but only a few and se and hear them Darcy has unfortyunately lost his dragon egg the first firedrake egg to have been laid in over a hundred years and his search leads him to Longbourn.I love dragons so I am enjoying the story, but not everything is resolved as the tale continues to Book 2 then 3 I look forward to finding out what happens to the other characters not Darcy Elizabeth who can hear the dragons.

    10. We are proud to announce that PEMBERLEY Mr Darcy s Dragon by Maria Grace is a B.R.A.G.Medallion Honoree This tells a reader that this book is well worth their time and money

    11. Okay, so it may look as though I read this variation of Austen s Pride and Prejudice in fewer that 24 hours, but that s not quite the case Maria Grace has kindly posted the first several chapters, serial style, on the her own website Random Bits of Fascination as well as on Austen Variations, so I had a head start and took off flying yesterday afternoon, finishing this morning. The dragonlore in this first novel of Maria Grace s Jane Austen s Dragons series, Pemberley Mr Darcy s Dragon is incredi [...]

    12. This book took the classic Pride and Prejudice and added a backdrop of dragons The estates in the story are all named after the dragon they Keep and of course Elizabeth is right in the thick of it In addition to the traditional story line, our dear couple has to deal with their responsibilities to their dragons. My favorite part of the story is the strength of Elizabeth Her common sense works wonders and amazes everyone I also enjoyed the dragon Friends, who are able to speak honestly in all situ [...]

    13. This is an amazing combination of fantasy and the classic Pride and Prejudice Maria Grace s masterfully interwoven drama with the missing Fire Drake egg and Jane Austen s original story was impossible to put down The drama between Darcy and Elizabeth was there and intensified by the dragon bonds The dragon world is well thought out and ordered and adds to the story making this a wonderfully unique and otherworldly variation The story ends with the main issue, the Fire Drake Egg, being resolved, [...]

    14. I m no stranger to the ting side of Austen retellings Zombies, vampires, sea monsters, genetic engineering, football if it s been mashed with Austen, I probably either have read it or own it or both Dragons is a new one, even for me And it is one that I am totally onboard for Dragons are just very underutilized, this day age, if you ask me Though they re certainly making a comeback thank you, Khalessi But even though I was all for it, I have to say, I was still surprised by how well this concept [...]

    15. A dragon bookI loved the story and the universe that this variation takes place in, but was disappointed that it finished after the ball How will the situation with Mr Collins be resolved and what will happen to release Lizzy from her duty

    16. This Dragon Riders of Pern Pride and Prejudice mash up worked pretty well, and was a very enjoyable read I liked the creative approach to dragon kind, the invented history, how the dragons interact with people, etc The dragons themselves are engaging characters The people, a bit less so overall, though I do enjoy the descriptions of how and why Lizzy has such a rapport with all of dragonkind, and her guide to dragon care Also, Mary s character s gets attention, in a good way The story moves alo [...]

    17. Pemberley Mr Darcy s Dragon is the first book in a new series called Jane Austen s Dragons It is an amazing re telling of Pride Prejudice, and the author has stayed true to the original characters and their foibles, for example Mrs Bennet and her nerves However, added to the original story are dragons, of all shapes and sizes, and temperaments to match From Fairy Dragons, Cockatrices, and Vikontes, they are all here for your delectation The dragons are all delightful, well rounded, and charismat [...]

    18. Fascinating Loved it What a seamless combination of two such distinct concepts It was very well written with plenty of intrigue left to resolve I am on the edge of my seat and can t wait to open 2 I m still in awe of how well the whole dragon storyline fit into P and P Genius

    19. I really enjoyed this book It retells Pride and Prejudice and adds dragons It s a cute and clever take on a favorite tale I didn t give it 5 stars for two reasons 1, there is no glossary of the types of dragons or other dragon related words, and 2, it only tells half the story the rest will be revealed in volume 2 I m looking forward to the sequel

    20. Prepare to be Sucked In What an addicting book Loved the plot, the characters were true to canon, but a little feistiness from Mr Bennett To combine dragon fantasy lore with Austen s PP story is just plain awesome Fantastic book

    21. Thoroughly enjoyable Pride and Prejudice with dragons Interesting take on Pride and Prejudice when dragons are added to the mix I have already ordered the next book.

    22. quite a good read and a good adaptation of Jane Austen s Pride and Prejudice, or at least part of it The dragons work well in this adaptation and it is wonderful to see the growing relationship between Elizabeth and Darcy even though they are still trying to dislike each other Unfortunately this is the first book in a series and the others are not available yet so I will have to wait to see where Maria Grace takes the next installment of the story.

    23. Pride and Prejudice and Dragons There have been several variations of the classic book, Pride and Prejudice, over the years Here s another one, with dragons this time As variants go, it s not bad, though it ends just after the Netherfield ball I look forward to the next installment of this story

    24. Very Enjoyable I found the story very exciting and can t wait for the next part Please keep the stories exciting, fresh and coming.
