    1. A good agent doesn t need gadgets The only gadgets I ve ever needed are a sharp eye, sensitive hearing and a whole bunch of bigger brains Spoilers ahead I love a good series as much as the next person In fact, most of the books I read are part of a series I m so accustomed to reading a story from the series, that I often think I see reoccurring characters in books that aren t part of a series That s maddening Series come with a variety of plot lines We have the siblings orphans spies brotherhood [...]

    2. A lovely conclusion to the Redgraves series, What a Hero Dares was a wonderful romance I really enjoyed reading this book, especially since I finally got to find out who the culprit behind the Society was It was thrilling, romantic, and a great read.Zoe was a good heroine She was a force to be reckoned with, both very clever and strong I really liked her I thought she was a lovely character.Max was also great He was very sweet, and very loyal to those he cared about Like Zoe, you definitely woul [...]

    3. a traitorous love In this volume the search for the leader of the secret hellfire club continues All our favourite Redgrave characters are here The threat of a Bonaparte inspired invasion is still present The family s investigation into its duplicitous, treasonous and debauched past continues They continue the search for the journals, the records of the society s members and plans.Trixie and the faithful Richard Borders, now married, are once entrenched in the action as is Kate. Our interest is [...]

    4. Another very good story, although there was a point where I almost, almost stopped reading I don t like heroes heroines who do stupid things and after all Zoe and Max had been through and talked through, she still decided to go after a bad guy without telling him The stress of her stupidity almost slammed the door for me I got over it but couldn t give five stars because of it This has been a splendid series, all the characters have been great I think Valentine book 3 wins as my favorite hero on [...]

    5. 3.5 starsLoved Max and Zoe They were great together I liked that Max was willing to talk to Zoe even after he thought she betrayed him But honestly he should have known she would never turn on him I was a little disappointed in him for that He was in love with her, but was willing to believe the worst about her He did apologize but I don t know if a relationship ever really gets over that so I don t know if I really believe that these two will have a HEA As far as the ongoing Society mystery it [...]

    6. TOP PICK Michaels concludes the Redgrave series with an enthralling, taut tale of desire, deception, love and loyalty She relies on solid storytelling, carefully crafted twists and turns and characters who use their intelligence to build a relationship and draw readers into the web of treason and danger This is a can t put down read by a grand mistress of the genre RT Book Reviews rated 4 1 2 stars The Redgraves series closer

    7. In the final book of the Redgrave series, it s up to second son Maximilian to finally put an end to the Society But there s some unfinished business with his former partner and lover, Chloe Charbonneau, before he can take action I ve found this series a bit uneven, but this was a great finale The second chance romance with Max and Chloe is perfect Meanwhile, we get to see all the rest of the Redgraves and also some characters from my favorite of Ms Michaels s series in Romney Marsh The plot move [...]

    8. The book starts out by dropping you right in the middle of the action and you just tumble headlong from there I don t think that having read the other three books will help there is a long page of exposition and, while it does make sense that two brothers would be catching each other up on what each had been doing, it still felt somehow forced Maximillien why such a weird, apparently French, spelling Because his father was treasonous The timing seems off to name him after Robespierre and, if tha [...]

    9. Couldn t finish this one, I surpassed the 100 page suitability specification that I have set myself but after just a handful pages gave up I felt that Michaels was trying too hard to show us the chemistry between Max and Zoe, and actually it didn t come through The Prologue should have been the scene where, passionately in love, she betrays him and he is devastated Instead recounted versions of their sharedpast just held no emotional impact.I loathe when characters constantly use the names of t [...]

    10. Review Posted on Harlequin JunkiesWhat a Hero Dares by Kasey Michaels Conspiracy, intrigue, betrayal and romance with a dashing hero and heroine make for a quick moving adventurous romp. The very handsome and brave Maximillien Max Redgrave, brother of Gideon, the Earl of Saltwood, is heading back home, after being an agent for the Crown in France for many years He s returning with a group of smugglers, who may also be working for What a Hero Dares coverBonaparte and the mysterious Society a secre [...]

    11. 3.5 StarsSo, I guess this was the wrap up of the series and I m still not sure about it There was little romance since the story seemed to focus on finishing the arc after four books It was a little confusing at times or maybe I just wasn t paying enough attention to it There were quite a few crosses and double crosses and recaps and people I forgot about from previous books I.e the pirate captain I ve really liked this series from the beginning and I m happy to see the end of the Society, but I [...]

    12. I hate writing negative reviews Don t get me wrong I loved the characters Zoe and Max are perfect for each other The issues I have are about predictability It was too predictable to be truly mysterious or intriguing I liked that the heroes got answers to the family scandals I did not like how neatly wrapped the resolution was Once again, too predictable.Perhaps I ve read too many of Ms Michaels novels I saw so many clues in the previous books that nothing contained in the conclusion drew me in [...]

    13. Not having read the previous installments of this series, I had a hard time following all of what was happening with the intrigue I didn t have a good sense of several of the characters who were presumably fully developed in the earlier books in the Redgrave series I liked Zoe and Max, andI m glad they didn t spend most of the book hating and mistrusting each other I probably would have enjoyed this if I had read the earlier Redgraves books, and if I had been able to read it in larger chunks w [...]

    14. Quite honestly not my favorite in the series However it had its charms But was really nice was that the story line wrapped up very nicely at the end, though I didn t find it plausible how it ended I can t really say anything else without throwing a spoiler in there, but I did enjoy the characters and seeing how everything turned out I still plan on reading books from this author I like the writing style generally and the rest of the books were very interesting, especially the first and second o [...]

    15. With as many hours of reading pleasure that K.M has given me over the years, her Romney Marsh series is my least favorite even though I ve read them all simply because the pros of her writing and characterizations outweigh the cons on my dislike for pirates smugglers stories My personal bias made What a Hero Dares a pleasant read rather than a great read, although K.M s twist on the misunderstanding romance trope is nicely handled in terms of the characters introspection Zoe and Max have interes [...]

    16. Don t get me wrong I like to read Kasey Michaels However, this latest in her Redgraves Series I found a bit too predictable And, the connection to the pirates of Romney Marsh was just quite convenient The characters were well developed and likable, and the story line was as believable and engaging as her other titles It makes great escape reading, especially for pirate lovers and fans It just wasn t quite enough to keep me reading to the end.I think Becket s Last Stand in the Romney Marsh Series [...]

    17. You have to trudge through a lot of drivel to get to the actual story For those who follow a series, or even new readers, I feel that it took up too much of the book The story itself, once you get there was just ok It wasn t phenomenal, it wasn t interesting enough to keep me up reading all night I set it aside several times before finishing I just couldn t get into this Highly predictable and nothing overly captivating, this story is just, ok.

    18. An okay conclusion to this series, but yet again I got bored with all the history Max disappointed me I was expecting so much from him The catching of the bad guys was so anti climatic and finding of the Bible was even of a joke I guessed who the Exalted One, yeah me And don t even get me started on the epilogue, oh wait, there wasn t one.
